How many litter boxes does your cat need? Plan the number and size

Vets and cat-welfare groups agree on a simple rule: one litter box per cat, plus one extra, spread around the home in quiet spots.

Boxes should be about 1.5 times your cat's length, which is bigger than many shop boxes. Use the planner to get your numbers, and call your vet if your cat suddenly stops using the box.
